If you don't own a Mac laptop w/ MagSafe, the upgrade just for that std is worth it. And add'y the cable Apple sells is so much more improved from the last time MagSafe were a thing. Can't go back to my USB-C-charge-only laptops -- so much safer and convenient. One gripe is the brightness of the LED -- esp in green 'charged', it's so bright I can read by it in a dark room -- which can and has disrupted my sleep. Toss a tea towel on it now... but wish there were a way to toggle the brightness.Other than that no complaints other than the usual dbl-anyone-else price of this cable. Four stars -- very much like the improvements, but still some flaws ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️_
This cable has proven to be a convenient and efficient solution for charging my MagSafe-compatible devices. With a length of 2 meters, it provides ample reach and flexibility for charging from various outlets. The USB-C to MagSafe 3 design ensures a secure connection and fast charging for my Apple devices, allowing me to power up quickly and conveniently. Whether I'm at home, in the office, or on the go, this cable has become an essential accessory for keeping my devices powered and ready for use.
I was STUNNED that an Apple product on Amazon, as shipped, is actually genuine and not a fake, but... it really is a genuine Apple MagSafe adapter. It's the new kind, not the old fat chunky kind, which means one end is USB-C and the other end is the wide slimline magnetic connector. The cable is a supple, very soft and flexible braided fabric just like the one that came with your laptop.Like the cable that came with your laptop, it's *super annoyingly short,* and barely reaches from the wall to wherever you're sitting, if it reaches at all, so be aware that you probably need a USB-C extension cable. There is at least one if not a few that work with this. The magnet is nice and strong, probably stronger than the old original MagSafe type that was on the old laptops. It's definitely stronger than the fake MagSafe adapters you can buy. I'm very happy with the magnet strength, and it's much harder than ever to accidentally knock the connection loose. While the price is a total ripoff, it's way too expensive, that's just what you are going to pay when you buy a genuine Apple cable. Unfortunately, the knockoffs haven't caught up in quality to the point where it's worth buying the cheap stuff yet.
I bought the Apple brand block charger but it didn't come with the Magsafe cable, so I had to buy this. It's a very well made cable, just expensive, as all Apple products are. But I only buy Apple or MFI products so it doesn't harm my battery or Macbook.
Well what can I say. $44 for a cable you can get elsewhere for $10, but I desperately needed it and didn't want to risk bricking my macbook or starting a fire with some scrupulous third-party cable. I only had to buy this because the one that came with my macbook frayed and broke within two years. I'm assuming this one is of similar quality, and will buy a backup somewhere else.Worth knowing that newer macs can be charged with a standard USB-C charger in a pinch.
